Steven’s Addition includes everything in Capitol Hill that’s east of 15th Ave, and many see it as the more “mature” area of Capitol Hill. You’ll find that 15th Ave is like it’s own little city (and has come to be known by some as “Restaurant Row”), and 19th is brimming with its own excellent set of restaurants and shops to explore. In Steven’s Addition, you’ll find gorgeous sidewalks lined with old trees, many old homes, historic condo buildings, and a fair share of newer developments sprinkled in.

On 15th you’ll find a foodie’s paradise. Places like Smith, The Wandering Goose, Rione XIII, Victrola Coffee, Liberty, Coastal Kitchen, Jamjuree, Ada’s Technical Books and Cafe, Harry’s Bar, Olympia Pizza & Spaghetti House III, Nuflours Bakery, Bakery Nouveau, Aviv Hummus Bar, BobaBucha Cafe, Caffe Ladro, Plenty of Clouds, and Bar Cotto are just a few (yes, there are more!) of the great restaurants and cafes you’ll find right on 15th. And for every restaurant, there’s a great business next door—find more 15th Ave recommendations here! 19th Ave E runs parallel to 15th, and this Steven’s Addition street offers even more to choose from. Stevens Addition is uniquely positioned in Capitol Hill in that it also borders Madison Valley and the Central District. Capitol Hill is a destination neighborhood on its own, but being right next to Madison Valley and the Central District expand your options for dining, nightlife, entertainment, and shopping even more.
Lush trees tower over sidewalk-lined streets, beautiful gardens that’ll inspire you to stop and smell the roses rest alongside historic homes, and cute little parks are tucked away here and there. Beautiful greenery to admire waits around every turn, and this is one of the reasons why Stevens Addition is so much more quieter than the rest of Capitol Hill.

Living close to great grocery stores is a big deal. Steven’s Addition has no shortage of grocery stores, and one of the best places around is Central Co-op. Local, organic, bulk foods, deli, you name it, Central Co-op is just 2 blocks from our latest listing. Trader Joe’s is right up the street, there’s a QFC on 15th, and there are also 2 Safeways in Steven’s Addition (one on 15th, one on Madison).
Stevens Addition is also known for its many stunning historic homes (the “mansions” of Capitol Hill) on Millionaire’s Row, and many streets will have you feeling like you’ve transported back in time.
