Where You Can Get a $500,000 Home AND a Reasonable Commute into Downtown Seattle

As of February 2020, the median home price in Seattle was at about $750k. This means that a home for $500k around here is consider a “good deal” by many.

We started to think about which neighborhoods in Seattle and nearby cities you can get a great single-family home for $500k AND have a commute into Downtown Seattle that’s still manageable.

This post includes several examples of current listings that ALL have a few important things in common:

  • First and foremost, these are all homes that we would feel happy with our clients purchasing.
  • Each home is as close to that $500k mark as possible.
  • Location puts you close to transit and/or freeways that’ll take you into Downtown Seattle.
  • These are all single-family homes or townhomes with space to spread out in!
